What people reported after taking them
The US Food and Drug Administration keeps a voluntary register of what people report after taking a food or a supplement, and some of these mushrooms turn up in it. Read it carefully. A report is somebody saying something happened after they took something, which is not a finding that it caused it. Nobody is required to report, so every count below is a floor and the real rate is unknown. And a mushroom with no reports has not been shown to be safe — it has been shown to be unreported.
